SOCIETY FOR RELIEF

OF

DISTRESSED JEWS

(SYRIAN COLONIZATION FUND).

The Jews in Russia have no security for life-and thousands seek shelter in Palestine where, though destitute, they are safe. Over 2,000 come in annually.

This Society gives Relief in Food and Clothes to 1,500 families of the sick and feeble, and work at Abraham's Vineyard to men and boys in various industries.

"We congratulate Mr. Monypenny upon the first instalment of his Life of Disraeli. If he maintains, in the succeeding volumes, the very high level which he has reached in the first, as we have no doubt he will, his work is certain to be adequate and worthy of its great theme. Mr. Monypenny lets the subject

of his biography speak for himself wherever possible, and as a rule only intervenes to keep the thread of the narrative and to elucidate. . The result is an altogether fascinating book."-Spectator.
