AVIATION STOREKEEPERS (AK)

RATING CODE No. 850

General Service Rating

Aviation Storekeepers procure, receive, identify, check, stow, preserve, and issue all types of naval aircraft and aeronautical equipment and accessories. Prepare and type all records pertaining to the procurement, stock control, and issuance of such equipment. Are assigned to aviation activities and ships having aviation units.

Write or print legible and record numbers neatly and
accurately. Typewrite, using the touch system. Per-
form routine care of typewriter through proper
ciling, cleaning, and making minor adjustments.
Operate and perform routine care, including clean-
ing, of office duplicating machines.....
Spell correctly commonly used words including naval
and technical terms used in connection with naval
aviation and aeronautical equipment. . . .

Take an inventory of an aircraft, including spare parts, as required upon receipt or issue of a complete airplane. Take inventory, using procedures established at own activity...

Supervise taking of routine and special inventories, completing necessary reports in connection therewith and initiating surveys when necessary...

Stow, issue, identify, and handle common items of aeronautical materials, spare parts and equipment under the cognizance of the supply officer, including ordnance, electronic, structural, engineering, and flight clothing. Handle in accordance with regulations and instructions governing aircraft exchange material
