In order to facilitate the study of "The Book Annexed," as amended by the General Convention of the Church in the United States, and to make easy its comparison with the Standard Book of Common Prayer, this list of the changes, omissions, and additions is supplied with the edition which we publish.

On the first page of the leaf preceding the title-page, print

THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER.

Omit from the title-page the words "together with the Psalter or Psalms of David."

Make the Table of Contents conform to the actual contents after all changes.

In place of The Order how the Psalter is appointed to be Read and of The Order how the rest of the Holy Scripture is appointed to be Read, substitute The Order concerning the Service of the Church; The Order how the Psalter is appointed to be Read; a new Table of Proper Psalms on Certain Days; a Table of Selections of Psalms; a new Order how the rest of the Holy Scripture is appointed to be Read, and the order concerning Hymns and Anthems.

Add to the Calendar the feast of The Transfiguration of Christ, and assign it to the 6th day of August.

Substitute for the present Lectionary that adopted by the General Convention of 1883, making provision in it for lessons for the feast of The Transfiguration of Christ.

After the first paragraph of Rules to know when the Moveable Feasts and Holy Days begin, add a note concerning the Full Moon.

In the Table of Feasts, after the words St. Barnabas insert the words the Apostle; and after the words St. James, the Apostle, insert the words The Transfiguration of Christ.

For the present eight Tables for finding Easter-day, the Dominical Letter, etc., substitute six new tables.

THE ORDER FOR DAILY MORNING PRAYER. Change the first rubric.

Omit from the Opening Sentences the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, and 14th, and insert others, rearranging, spacing, and rubricating them.

Omit the rubric that follows the Opening Sentences.

Substitute a new form for the present alternative Declaration of Absolution.

Change the rubric before the Venite.

Omit from the Venite the two verses taken from Psalm 96 (being the last two), leave an open space, and add the last four verses of Psalm 95.

Change the rubric which follows the Venite.

In the note preceding the Te Deum laudamus, after the word Minister insert the words or he that readeth.

Between the Te Deum and the Benedicite insert the Benedictus es Domine as an alternative, printing it in double columns, and retaining the rubric which follows the Te Deum.

After the Benedictus es Domine insert a new rubric: ¶ Or this.

Change the second rubric after the Benedicite.

Change the second rubric before the Benedictus.

Omit the Jubilate Deo. Insert the remainder of the Benedictus, leaving a space between the first four and the last eight verses of the hymn.

Print as alternatives to the Benedictus, the Psalms Jubilate Deo and De Profundis, prefixing to each the rubric Or

this Psalm.

Change the rubric before the Apostles' Creed.

Insert the word again after the word rose in the Apostles' Creed, here and wherever it is printed in the book.

After the Collect for Grace insert two rubrics.

Omit the rubric after the Prayer for the President of the United States.

In the Prayer for all Conditions of Men, after the words body or estate insert in italics, bracketed, the words especially those for whom our prayers are desired; also a marginal note.

In the General Thanksgiving, after the words to all men insert the words particularly to those who desire now to offer up their praises and thanksgivings for thy late mercies vouchsafed unto them. These words in italics and bracketed; also a marginal note.

THE ORDER FOR DAILY EVENING PRAYER. Change the first rubric.

Omit from the Opening Sentences the 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th, 9th, 11th, 12th, and 13th; add others, group, space, and rubricate. In place of the rubric before the General Exhortation substitute the following:

Let us humbly confess our sins unto Almighty God, ¶ Or else he shall say as followeth.

After the General Confession add an alternative confession preceded by the words ¶ Or this.

At the end of the Declaration of Absolution print Amen, and omit the rubric that immediately follows said Absolution.

Substitute a new alternative Declaration of Absolution for the present one.

Change the rubric before the Lord's Prayer.

Substitute a new rubric for the first one that follows the words The Lord's name be praised. Then insert the Gloria in Excelsis, then the second rubric, and then this new rubric; After which shall be said or sung the hymn called Magnificat, as followeth.

Insert the Magnificat, followed by this rubric; ¶ Or this Psalm, except when it is read in the ordinary course of the Psalms, on the nineteenth day of the month. (Which rubric takes the place of the present third rubric.)

After the Bonum est Confiteri insert a note.

After the rubric referring to the New Testament Lesson insert the hymn Nunc Dimittis, preceded by a substitute for the present rubric which is immediately before the Deus Misereatur.

Insert a note after Benedic Anima Mea.

Change the rubric preceding the Apostles' Creed.

Omit the Nicene Creed and the rubric preceding it.
Insert eight additional Versicles.

Change the first part of the Collect for Aid against Perils.
Insert two rubrics after said Collect.

Substitute a prayer for the present Prayer for the President of the United States.

Make the same changes in the Prayer for all Conditions of Men and in the General Thanksgiving as in these prayers in the Morning Service.

Substitute for the Prayer of St. Chrysostom a Prayer for God's Guidance and Defence.

THE BEATITUDES OF THE GOSPEL.

After the Order for Daily Evening Prayer insert the form of prayer entitled The Beatitudes of the Gospel.

THE LITANY.

For the rubric prefixed to the Litany substitute two rubrics and a note.

After the words lightning and tempest insert the words from fire and flood..
