thy flesh is meat indeed, and thy blood is drink indeed. O let us say from the bottom of our hearts, Blessed be God for Jesus Christ; and with thy saints here let us sing, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength. Honour and glory and blessing be unto him that sitteth upon the Throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever." Amen.

HYMN.

Not all the blood of beasts,
On Jewish altars slain,

Could give the guilty conscience peace,
Or wash away the stain.

But Christ the heavenly Lamb,
Takes all our sins away:
A sacrifice of nobler name,
And richer blood than they.

My faith would lay her hand
On that dear head of thine,
While like a penitent I stand,
And there confess my sin.

My soul looks back to see
The burdens thou didst bear,
When hanging on the cursed tree,

And hopes her guilt was there.

Believing, we rejoice

To see the curse remove;
We bless the Lamb with cheerful voice,
And sing his bleeding love.

PRAYER

For the Lord's Day Morning.

O thou God of love, herein indeed is love, that even when enemies we should be reconciled to thee by the death of thy Son! but O help us to see and to feel the cursed nature of sin that needed such an atonement, and that great love of a Saviour who offered it upon the cross. O that we could bear those things always in remembrance, that we could hate sin with a perfect hatred! that we could stand in awe of our God, and fear to offend him and that we could love that adorable Saviour who bought us at the inestimable price of his own blood!

Most blessed God, we desire to magnify thy name for revealing to us this great mystery. By it we would abide; and upon it we depend for the pardon of our sins and the salvation of our souls. And seeing that there is balm in Gilead, and a physician that is able to heal us, Olet not our souls be unhealed: let not the great things which the Lamb of

God has done and endured for perishing sinners be lost unto us! let us be healed by his stripes, and find his death unto us a savour of life.

Though we are sinful and unclean, yet what pollution and defilement cannot this fountain opened for sin and uncleanness wash and cleanse us from! Having therefore such an all sufficient Saviour to repair to, let us not be faithless, but believing, that Christ is our Lord and our God who loved and redeemed us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. O that we may know him and the fellowship of his sufferings, and be made conformable to his death; let the cross of Christ be the means of crucifying the world unto us and us unto the world.

Pardon, O good Lord, all forgetfulness of thee; and make us to know more of the love wherewith thou hast loved us; and touch our hearts with such a powerful sense of thy love that we may make better returns of love to thee, who hast done such great things for our souls. Let us never forget or slight such unparalleled kindness, but be constrained by it to live unto him who died for us, and rose again. O that the life we now live, may be by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us, and gave himself for us! Let us more and more abound in thy love.

Blessed Lord, let the serving and enjoying of thee be ever preferred above our chief joy. And let nothing in the world ever be so dear to us as the name of our adorable Emmanuel; and for all that thou hast done for us, be all possible glory and honour and praise ascribed unto thee, O most blessed Saviour and Redeemer, both now and evermore. Amen.

HYMN.

Come let us join our cheerful songs
With angels round the throne;
Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
But all their joys are one.

Worthy the Lamb that died, they cry,

To be exalted thus:

Worthy the Lamb, our lips reply,

For he was slain for us.

Jesus is worthy to receive
Honour and power divine,

And blessings more than we can give,
Be, Lord, for ever thine.

Let all that dwell above the sky,
And air, and earth, and seas,
Conspire to lift thy glories high,
And speak thine endless praise.
The whole creation join in one,
To bless the sacred name
Of him that sits upon the throne,
And to adore the Lamb.

PRAYER

For the Lord's Day Evening.

Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be to him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever! O Lord God of our salvation, thou hast remembered us in our low estate :-thou hast raised up a great salvation, and a mighty deliverance for us; thou hast sent thine only begotten Son to heal the sinful, to help the miserable, and to save the lost. None but thy blessed self, O Lord, knoweth the greatness of that gift which thou hast conferred upon us, the greatest that thou couldst give, or man receive. O how wonderful have been the designs of thy love, and the counsels of thy wisdom ! O that we may receive this great mystery of godliness with the deepest reverence, and most lively gratitude. Let our souls magnify the Lord, and our spirits rejoice in God our Saviour. Father of mercies! prepare our hearts to embrace this thine inestimable gift. O thou great Lord and lover of souls, remember us with the favour which thou bearest to thy people, and visit us with the joys of thy salvation. O
