AAGAARD, JOHANNES NIKOLAI, M.B.E., born May 26, 1871. Appointed Vice-Consul at Narvik, Norway, February 3, 1914. Is also Lloyd's Agent. Made an M.B.E. (honorary) July, 1920.

ABBAS KULI KHAN, C.M.G.,

born 1864. Interpreter in the Legation at Tehran, 1885 to 1901. Appointed Assistant Oriental Secretary to the Legation at Tehran, with the local rank of 3rd Secretary in the Diplomatic Service, April 1, 1901. Was in attendance on the Special Envoy from Persia at the Coronation of King Edward VII; and on the Shah during His Majesty's visit to England, August, 1902. Received the Coronation Medal. Made a C.M.G., June 26, 1903. Appointed Head of the Oriental Chancery of the Legation at Tehran, April 1, 1908. Granted a Royal Commission in that capacity, August 30, 1910, to take effect as from April 1, 1908. Granted the local rank of 2nd Secretary in the Diplomatic Service, July 17, 1922.

ABBEY, ERNEST George,

born August 14, 1888. Appointed Marshal of His Britannic Majesty's Supreme Court at Shanghai, February 4, 1923, and was granted a Civil Service Certificate in respect of the appointment, March 10, 1924.

ABBOTT, ARTHUR, F.R.G.S., born June 19, 1879. Appointed Vice-Consul at Munich, June 1, 1911. Acting Consul at Munich from July 1, 1911, to November 1, 1913. War declared by Great Britain on Germany, August 4, 1914. Mr. Abbott left Munich for Switzerland, August 5, and assisted in the Legation at Berne. Appointed Vice-Consul at Berne, September 3, 1914. Acting Vice-Consul at Zurich from November 1, 1914, to February 21, 1916, when he was appointed Vice-Consul. Resigned, December 31, 1916, on taking up an appointment as Secretary of the British Chamber of Commerce in Brazil. Appointed Consul for the States of Sao Paulo, Parana, and Santa Catarina

born September 5, 1891. Appointed an Assistant June 19, 1911, afterwards transferred to the Government Chemists' Department. Appointed a Second Division Clerk and was assimilated to the Executive Grade February 10, 1920. Served in the Department of Overseas Trade from that date until March 17, 1924. when he was transferred to the Foreign Office.
