In His HandMr. Doherty describes himself as a man who emerged from the grime of New York Citys street gangs with more scars than he wishes to remember. Escaping the stagnant fog of mediocrity, he knew that there was more to life and he sought it valiantly. He looked further than he could see and acted on impulses that were tried and true, to the best of his ability. Falling many times, he attributes his ability to rise above adversities to a higher power, and he describes these personal battles very well in his writings. He says that his book is just a humble attempt to achieve normalcy, but hopes his words will resonate to some and enlighten others. It is the authors intent that you be entertained, yet challenged, and perhaps even subliminally taught the ways of living life the way God intended us to live it. This is a work of insight and action based on the authors life. Much of what is written is tongue-in-cheek or metaphysical, but it is based on real events. This book is a compilation of essays written over many years and the reader will see growth and deeper understanding of Gods Holy Word as it applies to living in modern-day America. It is all here: sex, drugs, crime, sin, happiness, confusion, victory, humor, admonishment and the challenge to all of us to use the talents we have to further the cause of peace and love. There are some essays in this book that are written to cause real contemplation to the reader, yet the author takesgreat care not to pinpoint or chastise any particular group, sect, religion or ethnicity.
