About the author (1999)

Takamitsu Muraoka, Ph.D. (1970) in Hebrew, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is Professor of Hebrew Language and Literature, Ugaritic, and Israelite antiquities at Leiden University. His publications are concerned with Classical Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, and the Septuagint.
John F. Elwolde, Ph.D. (1988) in Linguistics, University of Hull, U.K., is a lecturer in the Department of Biblical Studies, University of Sheffield. His publications in the fields of Hebrew language and the Dead Sea Scrolls include translations of A.
Sáenz-Badillos's A History of the Hebrew Language (Cambridge, 1993) and M. Pérez Fernández's An Introductory Grammar of Rabbinic Hebrew (Leiden, 1997).
