SEC. 207. Section 512 of the Public Works and Eco

nomic Development Act of 1965 (42 U.S.C. 3191) is amended by inserting immediately after "1971," the fol

lowing: "and $500,000 for the two-fiscal-year period ending June 30, 1973,".

TITLE III—APPALACHIAN REGIONAL DEVELOP

MENT ACT AMENDMENTS OF 1971

SEC. 301. This title may be cited as the "Appalachian Regional Development Act Amendments of 1971".

SEC. 302. The second sentence of subsection (b) of section 105 of the Appalachian Regional Development Act of 1965 (40 App. U.S.C. 105) is amended to read as follows: "To carry out this section there is hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Commission, to be available until

expended, not to exceed $1,900,000 for the two-fiscal-year

period ending June 30, 1973. Not to exceed $475,000 of the

authorization for any such two-year period shall be available for the expenses of the Federal Cochairman, his alternate,

and his staff."

1 SEC. 303. Paragraph (7) of section 106 of the Appa2 lachian Regional Development Act of 1965 (40 App. U.S.C.

3 106) is amended by striking out "1971" and inserting in lieu 4 thereof "1973".

5 SEC. 304. Subsection (g) of section 201 of the Appa6 lachian Regional Development Act of 1965 (40 App. U.S.C. 7 201) is amended by striking out "and $170,000,000 for 8 the fiscal year ending June 30, 1973." and inserting in lieu 9 thereof the following: "$175,000,000 for the fiscal year 10 ending June 30, 1973; $175,000,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1974; and $175,000,000 for the fiscal year 12 ending June 30, 1975."

SEC. 305. Section 205 (b) of the Appalachian Regional 14 Development Act of 1965 (40 App. U.S.C. 205) is 15 amended by striking out "and 1971" and inserting in lieu 16 thereof the following: "1971, 1972, and 1973". 17 SEC. 306. Section 401 of the Appalachian Regional 18 Development Act of 1965 (40 App. U.S.C. 401) is 19 amended by striking out "and not to exceed $268,500,000 20 for the two-fiscal-year period ending June 30, 1971, to 21 carry out this Act, of which amount" and inserting in lieu 22 thereof the following: "not to exceed $268,500,000 for the 23 two-fiscal-year period ending June 30, 1971, and not to 24 exceed $268,500,000 for the two-fiscal-year period ending
