THE Institute was called to order at 10 o'clock, A. M., by MR. THAYER, of Boston, the President being absent, and then adjourned for a few minutes to give place to an adjourned meeting of the Directors. Having come to order again, the Institute appointed a Committee to seat ladies and strangers; viz. Messrs. Rodman, Metcalf and Robinson. It having been moved to appoint a Committee to nominate a Committee of Arrangements, the Chairman asked to be excused from making the nomination at present, and the business was postponed till afternoon. Messrs. Kingsbury, Bishop, and Rodman, of Providence, were appointed a Committee to report for the papers. An invitation was given to all gentlemen to become members, and to all members to pay their annual assess ment. Mr. Pettes, of Boston, moved that a Committee be appointed to prepare a List of Honorary Members and of Past Officers. On motion of Mr. F. Emerson, it was laid on the table. On motion of Mr. F.
