15 And the LORD GOD took the Man, and put him into the Garden of Eden, to dress it and to keep it.

* Ezek. xxviii. 13 Thou hast been

in Eden the Garden of God.
Is Thou wast perfect in thy Ways
from the Day that thou waft created,
till Iniquity was found in thee.

16 And the LORD commanded the Man, faying, Of every Tree of the Garden thou mayst freely eat :

17 But of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and EVIL, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the Day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt SURELY DIE.

18 And the LORD GOD said, It is not good that the Man should be alone: I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the Ground the LORD GOD formed every Beast of the Field, and every Fowl of the Air, and brought them unto Adam to fee what he would call them and whatfoever Adam called every living Creature, that was the Name thereof.

zo And Adam gave Names to all the Cattle, and to the Fowls of the Air, and to every Beast of the Field: but for Adam there was not found an Help meet for him.

21 And the Lord God caused a deep Sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his Ribs, and closed up the Flesh in stead thereof.

22 And the Rib, which the LORD GOD had taken from Man, made he a Woman, and brought her to the Man.

1 Cor. xi. 8 The Man is not of the Woman, but the Woman of the

Man.

9 Neither was the Man created for the Woman: but the Woman for the Man.

11 Neither is the Man without the Woman, neither the Woman without the Man in the LORD.

12 For as the Woman is of the

Man, even so is the Man also by the
Woman: but all things of GOD.

Ephef. v. 31 For this Cause shall a Man leave his Father and Mother, and shall be joined unto his Wife, and they two shall be one Flesi.

24 Therefore shall a Man leave his Father and his Mother, and shall cleave unto his Wife: and they shall be one Flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the Man and his Wife, and were not ashamed.

N OW the Serpent was more fubtil than any Beast of the Field which the Lord God had made: and he faid unto the Woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every Tree of the Garden ?

2 And the Woman faid unto the Serpent, We may eat of the Fruit of the Trees of the Garden :

3 But of the Fruit of the Tree which is in the midst of the Garden, God hath faid, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, left ye die.

1 Tim. ii. 14 The Woman being deceived, was in the Tranfgreffion.

2 Cor. xi. 3 Fear, lest by any means, as the Serpent beguiled Eve through his Subtilty, so your Minds should be corrupted from the Simplicity that is in CHRIST.

5 For God doth know, that in the Day ye eat thereof, then your Eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as Gods, knowing Good and Evil.

6n And when the Woman law that the Tree was good for Food, and that it was pleasant to the Eyes, and a Tree to be desired to make one WISE; she took of the Fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her Hufband with her, and he did

eat.

7 And the Eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked : and they sewed Fig-leaves together, and made themselves Aprons.

8 And they heard the Voice of the LORD GOD walking in the Garden in the Cool of the Day: and Adam and his Wife hid themselves from the Prefence of the LORD GOD amongst the Trees of the Garden.

Rom. v. 12 Wherefore as by one Man Sin entred into the World, and Death by Sin; and so Death pasled upon all Men, for that all have finned.

13 For until the Law, Sin was in the World: but Sin is not imputed

when there is no Law.

14 Nevertheless Death reigned from Adam to Mofes, even over them that had not finned after the Similitude of Adam's Tranfgreflion, who is the Figure of him that was to come:

Is But not as the Offence, so alfo is the free Gift: For if through the

offence of one, many be dead, much

by Grace, which is by one Man, JESUS CHRIST hath abounded unto many.

16 And not as it was by one that finned, fo is the Gift: for the Judg. ment was by one to Condemnation; but the free Gift is of many Offences

unto Juftification.

17 For if by one Man's Offence, Death reigned by one; much more they which, receive abundance of Grace, and of the Gift of Righteoufnefs, shall reign in Life by one, JE

SUS CHRIST.

9 And the LORD GOD called unto Adam, and faid unto him, Where art thou ?

10 And he said, I heard thy Voice in the Garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid my felf.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked ? haft thou eaten of the Tree whereof I commanded thee, that thou shouldst not eat?

12 And the Man faid, The Woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the Tree, and I did eat.

13 And the LORD GOD faid unto the Woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the Woman faid, The Serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Pfal. li. s Behold I was shapen in Iniquity; and in Sin did my Mother conceive me.

14 And the LORD GOD faid unto the Serpent, Because thou haft done this, thou art cursed above all Cattle, and above every Beast of the Field: upon thy Belly shalt thou go, and Dust shalt thou eat all the Days of thy Life.

I John i. 8 If we say that we have no Sin we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our Sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our Sins, and to cleanse us from all Unrighteousness.

18 Thorns also and Thistles shall it bring forth to thee: and thou shalt eat the Herb of the Field.

19 In the Sweat of thy Face shalt thou eat Bread, till thou return unto the Ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for Duft thou art, and unto Dust shalt thou return.

20 And Adam called his Wife's Name Eve, because she was the Mother of all living.

21 Unto Adam also and to his Wife did the LORD GOD make Coats of Skins, and cloathed them.

22 And the LORD GOD faid, Behold, the Man is become as one of us, to know Good and Evil. And now left he put forth his Hand, and take also of the Tree of Life, and eat, and live for ever :

23 Therefore the LORD Gon fent him forth from the Garden of Eden, to till the Ground, from whence he was taken.

24 So he drove out the Man: and he placed at the East of the Garden of Eden, Cherubims, and a flaming Sword which turned every Way, to keep the Way of the Tree of Life,

Pfal. xc. s Thou carriest them away as with a Flood, they are as a Sleep in the Morning they are like

6 In the Morning it flourisheth, and groweth up 3 in the Evening it is cut down, and withereth.

10 The Days of our Years are THREESCORE YEARS and TEN; and if by reason of Strength they be fourscore Years, yet is their Strength LABOUR and SORROW: for it is foon cut off, and we fly away.

12 So teach us to number our Days, that we may apply our Hearts unto Wisdom.

Pfal. ciii. 14 For he knoweth our Frame: he remembreth that we are Duft.

15 As for Man, his Days are as Grass: as a Flower of the Field, fo he flourisheth.

Pfal. xxxix. 6 Surely every Man walketh in a vain Shew: Surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up Riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

7 And now, LORD, what wait I for? my Hope is in thee.

Job xiv. 1 Man that is born of a Woman, is of few Days, and is full of Trouble.

2 He cometh forth like a Flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a Shadow, and continueth not.

3 And dost thou open thine Eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into Judgment with thee?

4 Who can bring a clean Thing out of an unclean? not one.

Pfal. xlix. 12 Nevertheless, Man being in Honour, abideth not: he is like the Beasts that perish.

ND Adam knew Eve his Wife: and she conceived, and bare Cain, and faid, I have gotten a Man

2 And she again bare his Brother Abel. And Abel was a Keeper of Sheep, but Cain was a Tiller of the Ground. 3 And in process of Time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the Fruit of the Ground an Offering unto the

P Heb. xi. 4 By FAITH Abel offered unto GOD a more excellent Sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained Witness, that he was RIGHTEOUS, GOD testifying of his Gifts: and by it he being dead, yet speaketh.

5 But unto Cain and to his Offering he had not Respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his Countenance fell.

6 And the LORD faid unto Cain, Why art thou wroth ? and why is thy Countenance fallen ?
