Uncleanness, let it not be once named among you; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting.
Remove from me reproach and contempt.
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Let all evil-speaking be put away from you.
FAITH AND WORKS,
Be not faithless but believing. Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Jesus saith unto them, have faith in God. Ye believe in God, believe also in me.
No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved ; but he that believeth not, shall be damned.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not on the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on liim.
He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
He that believeth on him is not condemned ; but he that believeth not is condemned already; because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Had
ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me : for he wrote of me. But if
believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rose from the dead.
Whosoever shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
Whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him also shall the Son of Man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.
There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
If righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. That no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident : for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith.
Examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in
of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for he is faithful that promiser; and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.
By works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works ? "Can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filed; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hasi faith, and I have works : shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God, thou doest well : the devils also believe and tremble. But wilt thou know, 0 vain man! that faith without works is dead ?
Ye shall know them by their fruits.
Not every one that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven : but he
that doeth the will of my Father that is in hea
Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man which built his house upon a rock : and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand : and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Whosoever shall do the will of
Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
If f ye love me, keep my commandments.
doers of the word and not hearers only. Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
The kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and joy in the E Holy Ghost.
Wal: worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work. Let y ur light so shine before men, that they
"p good works, and glorify your Father wbich is in heaven.
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God, might be careful to maintain good works: these things are good and profitable unto men.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
When ye fast, be not as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily, I unto you, they have their reward. But thon, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; that thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret will reward thee openly.
Behold, ye fast, for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be hearil on high. Is it such a fast that I (God) have chosen ? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to how down his head as a bulrush, and co spread sackcloth and ashes under him ? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord ? Is not this the fast that I have chosen ? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal y bread to the hungry, and that thou bring i poor that are cast out to thy house? wherr thou seest the naked, that thou cover bin: and that thou hide not thyself from thine wwn flesh ? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine bealth shall spring forth speedily: and thy
