6. Is not this the FAST that I have chofen? to loose the Bands of Wickedness, to undo the heavy Burden, and to let the Oppreffed go free, and that ye break every Yoke?

7. Is it not to deal thy Bread to the HUNGRY, and that thou bring the Poor that are caft out to thy House? When thou feest the NAKED, that thon cover him: and that thou hide not thy

felf from thine own Flesh?

8. Then fhall thy Light break forth as the Morning, and thine Health fhall fpring forth fpeedily and thy Righteoufnefs fhall go before thee, the GLORY of the Lord fhall be thy Rere-ward."

Joel ii. 12. Therefore also now faith the LORD, TURN ye even to me with all your HEART, and with FASTING, and with WEEPING, and with MOURNING.

13. And rent your HEARTS, and not your Garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is Gracious and Merciful, flow to Anger, and of great Kindness, and repenteth him of the Evil.

22. The Light of the Body is the Eye: if therefore thine Eye be fingle, thy whole Body fhall be full of Light. 23. But if thine Eye be evil, thy whole Body fhall be full of Darkness. If therefore the Light that is in thee be Darkness, how great is that Darkness!

21. So is he that layeth up TREASURE for himself, and is not RICH towards God.

Chap. xxi. 34. And take heed to your felves, left at any time your Hearts be overcharged with Surfeiting and Drunkennefs, and CARES of this LIFE, and fo that Day come upon you unawares.

1 Cor. vii. 31. For the Fafhion of this World paffeth away. 1 Tim. vi. 6. But GODLINESS with Contentment is great Gain. 7. For we brought nothing into this World, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

17. Charge them that are RICH in this World, that they be not HIGH-MINDED, nor TRUST in UNCERTAIN Riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all Things to enjoy:

18. That they Do GooD, that they be rich in GOOD WORKS, ready to diftribute, willing to communicate;

19. Laying up in ftore for themselves a good Foundation against the Time to come, that they may lay hold on ETERNAL LIFE.

Heb. xiii. 5. Let your Converfation be without COVETOUSNESS; and be CONTENT with fuch Things as ye have: for he hath faid, I will never LEAVE thee, nor FORSAKE thee.

14. For they that fay fuch Things, declare plainly that they feek a COUNTRY, that is, an HEAVENLY.

25. Therefore (b) I fay unto you, Take no THOUGHT for your Life, what ye fhall EAT, or what ye fhall DRINK; nor yet for your Body, what ye fhall put on: Is not the LIFE more than Meat, and the Body than Raiment?

26. Behold the Fowls of the Air: for they fow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into Barns; yet your HEAVENLY FATHER feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27. Which of you by TAKING THOUGHT can add one Cubit unto his Stature?

28. And why take ye Thought for Raiment? Confider the Lilies of the Field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they fpin.

29. And yet I fay unto you, that even Solomon in all his Glory, was not arayed like one of these.

30. Wherefore if GOD fo clothe the Grafs of the Field, which to day is, and to morrow is caft into the Oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little Faith ?

31. Wherefore take no Thought, faying, What fhall we eat? or what fhall we drink? or wherewithal fhall we be cloathed ?

32. (For after all thefe Things do the Gentiles feek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all thefe Things.

(b) Palm xxxvii. 5. COMMIT thy way unto the Lord: TRUST alfo in him, and he fhall bring it to pafs.

33. But (c) SEEK ye firft the KINGDOM of GOD, and his RIGHTEOUSNESS, and all these Things fhall be added unto you.

34. Take therefore no thought for the Morrow for the Morrow fhall take Thought for the Things of itself: fufficient unto the Day is the EVIL thereof f.

(c) Pfalm lxxi. 16. I will go in the Strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy RIGHTEOUSNESS, even of thine only. Phil. ii. 8. I count all Things but Lofs, for the Excellency of the Knowledge of Chrift Jefus my Lord: for whom I have fuffered the Lofs of all Things, and do count them but Dung, that I may win Christ,

9. And be found in him, not having mine own RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is of the LAW, but that which is through the FAITH of Chrift, the RIGHTEOUSNESS which is of GoD by Faith.
