The student is presented with textual material, extracts of statutes and reading materials, actual legal cases, and discussion problems. The student should seek to understand the philosophy and purpose of military law. The legal areas, cases, and points of law discussed are used merely as a teaching vehicle to develop an understanding of the law; the text is not designed for rote memorization of specific items or rules. The development of military law "skills," such as filling out the forms or knowledge of specific procedural actions, will be left to the branch basic course. Users of this publication are encouraged to submit recommended changes and comments to improve the publication.
