About the author (2004)

Richard Palmer is Head of English at Bedford School, an A Level examiner and an HMC-Ofsted Inspector. Author of Write in Style, 2nd edition and The Good Grammar Guide (also published by Routledge), he writes regularly for a number of journals and has recently worked as a Study Skills Consultant for several secondary and tertiary academic institutions and for NatWest Bank. For many years he was a Tutor and Consellor for the Open University.
