Ken Millard was a person who had his priorities clearly established: his Faith, his Family, and his role as Professional Educator. Ken taught Science at Wyalusing Valley High School from 1955 to 1983. In 1958 he was awarded a National Science Teacher Fellowship from the Pennsylvania State University. During his time at Wyalusing Valley he coached Baseball, established the Aviation Club, and helped innumerable students develop a positive attitude about studying Science, as well as a positive outlook about life itself. He was also not hesitant, if asked, to describe his personal view of how science and creation complimented each other. This detailed account, by his wife Sally, of their time together during his 1980 Sabbatical leave from Wyalusing Valley High School helps reinforce how much he cared about living out his priorities and about helping people in general.

Gary Miller, a former student, and current President of the Wyalusing Area School Board.

About the author (2007)

Sara “Sally” Millard, wife of Kenneth Millard, journaled each day’s activities of their Sabbatical year.  It was a year granted for travel and education.  This was accomplished by association with Hope Aglow Ministries.

Some day’s activities recount some exciting, even dangerous, accounts of concern and love for incarcerated men and women in prisons from Maine to Florida and as far West as Indiana and a short visit into Canada.

Sara has written a former book with AuthorHouse as Publisher.  The title of that book is “The Adventures of Sally on Barclay Mountain.  That book is a bio of her life as a child growing up on an historic coal mining mountain in North Eastern Pennsylvania.
