SECTION II.

Psal. v. 3. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psal. Ixv. 2. O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Psal. Ixix. 30, 31. I will praise the name of God with a song, und will magnify him with thanksgiving. This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. Matt. vi. 6. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Heb. xi. 6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 1 Cor. xiv. 15. What is it then? I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. Psal, xvii. 1. Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips. Psal. xxv. 1. Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. Lam. iii. 41. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. 1 Tim. i. 17. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. Eccles. v. 1, 2. Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God for God is in heaven, and thou on earth; therefore let thy words be few. Prov, xv. 8. 29. The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. John ix. 31. Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. Psal. xx. 5. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil

all thy petitions. 1 John v. 15. And if we know that be hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. Matt. xxi. 22. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer believing, ye shall receive. Matt. vi. 33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you." Psal. 1. 14. Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the Most High. Ephes. v. 20. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Phil. iv. 6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made unto God. Psal. c. 4. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psal. cxlv. 2. Every day will I bless thee: and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Deut. xxxii. 3, 4, Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock: his work is perfect for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

SECTION III.

Psal. xcv. 6, 7. O come let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To-day if ye will hear his voice. Psal. cxlv. 19. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him; he also will hear their cry, and will help them. 1 Tim. ii. 8. I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. Neb. ix. 6. Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. Psal. lxviii. 19. Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Psal, ciii. 2, 3. Bless

the Lord, O my soul; and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. 1. Pet. i. 3, 4. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. Rev. iv. 8-11. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within; and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, the four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Hab.i. 13. Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he? John xiv. 13, 14. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Col. iii. 17. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Heb. iv. 14. 16. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Ephes. iii. 12. In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Gal. iv. 6. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 1 Tim. ii. 5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Isai, liii. 12. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Heb. vii. 25. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. 1 Cor. xv. 57. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Cor. ii. 14. Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 1 Cor. i. 4. I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ. Heb. xii. 22-24. But ye are come unto Mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the first-born, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Matt. xviii. 20. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. John v. 22, 23. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son. That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. 2 Pet. i. 17. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Phil. ii. 9. 11. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name : that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 1 Cor. i. 2, Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ

Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours. Rom. x. 12, 13. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Heb. i. 6. And again, when he bringeth the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. Matt. xxviii. 19. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. 2 Cor. xiii. 14. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

SECTION IV.

1 John v. 14, 15. And this is the confidence that we have <in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heureth us; and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of chim. James iv. 3. Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask umiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Matt. vi. 31-33. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? ör, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you. 1 Cor. xii. 31. But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. Col. iii. 1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God. Heb. iv. 16. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in 'time of need. 1 Tim. ii. 1-4. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings and all that are
