demption unto his people; he hath commanded his covenant for ever; holy and reverend is his name. 1 Chron. xvi. 29. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering and come before him; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Ezek. xxx. 25. Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name. 2 Thess. iii. 1. Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you. 2 Cor. ii. 14, 15. Now thanks be to God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish. Ephes. i. 17, 18. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. Psal. 1xxiv. 18. Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Lord, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name. 1 Tim. vi. 1. Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. Phil. i. 9. 11. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in all knowledge and in all judgment; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

SECTION VIII,

Matt. vi. 10. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth as it is heaven. Luke xi. 2. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name: Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Ps. Ixviii. 18. Thou hast

ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive, thou hast received gifts for men, yea for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them. Rev. xii. 10, 11. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God, day and night. 2 Thess. iii. 1. Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you. Rom. xi. 25, 26. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in and so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. Ephes. vi. 10—13. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take upon you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 2 Thess. ii. 16, 17. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. 2 Thess. i. 11, 12. Wherefore we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith and power. That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Matt. vii. 21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matt. vi. 10. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. Luke xi. 2. Thy kingdom come: thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Ps. ciii. 20, 21. Bless the Lord ye his angels that excel in strength, that do his commandments hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his that do his pleasure. 2 Cor. iii. 5. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God. Rom. vii. 18. For I know that in me, is in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not. 1 Cor. ii. 14. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Rom. viii. 7. Because the carnal mind is enmity; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (Ephes. iii. 14. 19. See above.) 1 Pet. iii. 17. For it is better if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing than for evil doing. Micah vi. 8. According to my earnest expectation and my hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also, Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or death; for me to live is Christ, to die is gain.

daily bread. Luke 1 Tim. iv. 3, 4, 5.

Matt. vi. 11. Give us this day our xi. 3. Give us this day our daily bread. Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth, for every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: for it is sanctified by the word of God in prayer. Prov. xxx. 8, 9. Remove far from me vanity and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches, feed me with food convenient for me; lest I be full and deny thee and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. Deut. viii. 3. 17, 18. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, (which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know) that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee the power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant, which he swore unto thy fathers, as at this day. James iv. 3. Not slothful in business ; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. Ephes. iv. 28. Let

him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 2 Thess. iii. 11, 12. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busy-bodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. Matt. vi. 34. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

SECTION XI.

Matt. vi. 12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Luke xi. 4. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Rom. iii. 9. 12. What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles that they are all under sin; as it is written, There is none righteous, no not one: there is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no not one. Matt. vi. 14, 15. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly Father forgive you. Matt. xviii. 35.
