The Architect performs his duties under authority of the Act of May 7, 1934 (48 Stat. 668). The mechanical equipment includes such items as air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilating systems with more than 1,000 pieces of equipment; electrical transformer stations; 300 plumbing fixtures and related piping; 8 elevators and 5 dumbwaiters; electric fixtures and wiring.
