IN the third year of Cyrus king of Perfia, a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whole name was called Beltemazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vifion.

13 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our defolations; and the city which is called by thy name for we do not prefent our fupplications before thee to our right-ing three full weeks. coufnetles; but for thy great mercies.

6 His body alfo was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polithed brafs, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

19 And said, & man greatly beloved, fear not peace be unto thee, be frong, yea, be ftrong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was ftrengthened, and faid, Let my lord fpeak; for thou haft strengthened me.

20 Then faid he, Knoweft thou wherefore I come unto thee and now will I return to fight with the prince of Perfia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia fhall come.

21 But I will thew thee that which is noted in the fcripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in thefe things, but Michael your prince.

7 But out of a branch of her roots fhall one ftand up in his eftate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortrefs of the king of the north, and thall deal against them, and fhall prevail, 8 And ihall alfo carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious veffels of filver and of gold; and he thall continue more years than the king of the north.

9 So the king of the fouth fhall come into bis kingdom, and shall return into his own land.

10 But his fons fhall be stirred up, and fhall affemble a multitude of great forces: and one thall certainly come and overflow, and pafs through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortrefs.

11 And the king of the fouth fhall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north; and he thall fet forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.

12 And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart thall be lifted up: and he shall caft down many ten thoufands: but he fhall not be strengthened by it.

25 And he fall ftir up his power and his courage against the king of the fouth with a great army; and the king of the fouth thall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not ftand; for they fhall forecast devices against him.

26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat hall deftroy him, and his army fhall overflow: and many hall fall down flain.

27 And both thefe kings' hearts ball be to do mifchief, and they shall fpeak lies at one table; but it shall not profper: for yet the end ball be at the time appointed.

28 Then fhall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart ball be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.

4 But thou, O Daniel, fhut up the words, and feal the book, even to the time of the end many fhall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

5 Then I Daniel looked,and, behold, there ftood orlier two, the one on this fide of the bank of the river, and the other on that fide of the bank of the river. 6 And one faid to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long ball it be to the end of thefe wonders?

CHAP. I.

8 And I heard, but I understood not: then faid I. O my Lord, what shall be the end of thefe bings?

9 And he faid, Go thy way, Daniel : for the words are clofed up and fealed

till the time of the end.

10 Many fhall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked fhall do wickedly and none of the wicked fhall underftand, but the wife fhall underftand.

11 And from the time that the daily facrifice thall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh defolate fet up, there fbali be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12 Bleffed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thoufand three hundred and five and thirty days.

15 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt reft, and ftand in thy lot at the end of the days.

THE word of the LORD that came unto Hofea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Abaz, and Hezekiah, kings of judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the fon of Joath king of Ifrael. 2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Holea And the LORD faid to Hofea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms for the land hith committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

CHAP. III.

So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of filver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

3 And I faid unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for anorber man: fo will I also be for thee.

For the children of Ifrael fhall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a facrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim :
