Private Baptifm of Adults.

Private Baptifm of Adult Catechumens may be performed in cafes of Neceffity according to the form before prefcribed for Publick Baptism of Adults; except that

The Priest need only take the perfon to be baptized by the right hand, without moving him, and fay, The Lord vouchfafe to receive thee, &c.

After which let him fay, Well-beloved, who earneftly defireft to receive holy baptism, &c.

When he baptizes him, he may pour Water upon him in the manner ordered in the form for Private Baptifm of Infants.

After the Perfon baptized has faid the Lord's Prayer and the Collect following it, the Priest fall anoint him with the Holy Chrifm, and fay the prayer that follows the Anointing, as is ordered in the form for Private Baptifm of Infants. After

After the Baptifmal Office is concluded, the Prieft fhall adminifter the Holy Eucharift of the Body and Blood of Chrift to the perfon baptized, according to the form of the Communion of the Sick.

If no Prieft can be procured, a Deacon may baptize him according to the directions above prescribed, except that be fall omit the confecration of the Water and the anointing with the Holy Chrifm: And as foon as a Prieft can be procured, he shall anoint the perfon baptized with the Holy Chrifm, and give him the Holy Sacrament of Chrift's Body and Blood. But if a Prieft cannot be had, the Deacon may communicate him.

If any perfons not baptized in their infancy fhall be offered to be baptized, before they come to years of difcretion to answer for themselves; it may fuffice to use the office for Publick Baptifm of Infants, or (in cafe of extream danger) the office for Private Baptifm of Infants, only changing the word [Infant] for [Child or Perfon] as occafion requireth.

The Form of Solemnization of Matrimony is the fame with that in the Common Prayer-book of the Church of England.

The Churching of Women.

This office is to be used immediately after the Nicene Creed in the Euchariftick Service.

The Woman at the ufual time after her delivery, fball come into the church, decently apparelled with a white Covering or Veil, and there shall kneel down before the Altar or at the rails thereof: And then the Deacon fball fay unto her,

Orafmuch as it hath pleafed Almighty God of his goodness to give thee fafe deliverance, and hath preferved thee in the great danger of Childbirth, thou shalt therefore give hearty thanks unto God, and fay,

(Then fhall the Deacon fay the following Pfalms, the Woman repeating them after him; but if the child be dead, the laft Pfalm fhall be omitted.)

IAM well pleased: that the Lord hath heard the voice of my prayer.

That he hath inclined his ear unto me: therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

The fnares of death compaffed me round about: and the pains of hell gat hold upon me.

What reward fhall I give unto the Lord: for all the benefits that he hath done unto me?

I will receive the cup of falvation: and call upon the name of the Lord.

I will pay my vows now in the presence of all his people: in the courts of the Lord's house, even in the midst of thee, O Jerufalem. Praise the Lord.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son; and to the Holy Ghoft; [Hallelujah :]

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall bę: world without end. Amen. [Hallelujah.]
