wouldest have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth, hear our prayers for all men. Bless all in authority over us, that we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty. May thy people every where shine as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life, and continually add to thy church multitudes who shall be everlastingly saved, through Jesus our Redeemer. Amen.

TUESDAY MORNING.

PRAISE FOR GOSPEL BLESSINGS, AND PRAYER TO FULFIL DAILY DUTY.

Almighty Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our one and only Mediator, the way, the truth, and the life, we now come unto thee. Give us access through him by one Spirit with freedom and confidence of heart. We praise thee, we bless thee, we exalt together thy grace to us, in setting forth such an all-sufficient propitiation, to declare thy righteousness for the remission of sins through thy forbearance to us. O grant unto us all faith in his blood for the remission of all our past sins, and may that blood purge our consciences from dead works to serve thee the living God. We thank thee for that new covenant made through him, and established on such precious promises, that thou wilt put thy laws into our

minds and write them in our hearts, and that thou wilt be unto us a God and we shall be unto thee a people, and thou wilt remember our sins and our iniquities no more.

God of all grace, be it unto us according to thy gracious word; may we all, without one exception, take hold of thy covenant, receive its blessings gratefully and gladly, and improve them diligently; and walk worthy of our high calling in all holy tempers and Christian graces.

Assist us by thy Spirit to fulfil the duties of our stations faithfully this day; whether directing or obeying, teaching or learning, ruling or serving; may our aim be simple in seeking to please thee; may our hearts be single in loving thee chiefly, and with our whole soul, loving others according to thy word, without dissimulation. Preserve us from dishonouring thy name, and from falling away from thy truth. May we all be watchful, laborious and diligent servants of that Heavenly Master who has given to us our several talents and appointed our stations; knowing the account to be rendered to him at his coming, and seeking above all things to be approved of thee in that day.

Bless those that are over us in the Lord, and admonish us; may we ever esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Give us grace to be thoughtful for others; to bear their burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ; to support the weak, to be

patient towards all, not rendering evil for evil to any, but contrariwise blessing, and ever following that which is good.

Bless our country. We thank thee for all the social comforts, domestic blessings, and national mercies which abound in our land, and for thy holy church which thou hast established in our borders. May the families of our nation become the families of the true Israel. May the literal Israel be grafted in again to their own olive. May thousands and tens of thousands through all Christendom be brought out of the darkness of Popery, infidelity and worldliness, and be made ready as a people prepared for the Lord. Hear us in behalf of all nations, and may Christ reign in every land, for his name's sake.

TUESDAY EVENING.

FOR GRACE TO DO GOD'S WILL, AND FOR FAMILY

UNION IN CHRIST.

Everlasting Lord God, the mighty God, the Holy One, who art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look upon iniquity, we confess together this evening that we have sinned against thee, that we are exposed to thy curse, and under the condemnation of thy holy law; but Christ Jesus, thy Son, our Lord, has died for us; Christ Jesus has laid in the grave for us; he has risen again for our justifica

tion, and he is now in heaven in our nature to make intercession for us.

O Lord, give us confidence of pardon, and peace of conscience, through the atonement of our Lord Jesus Christ, that we may be enabled to serve thee with a free and joyful heart. And so largely pour thy grace upon us, that we may, like that divine Master who is our great example, live wholly to thee, take up our daily cross, delight in thy will, find it as our meat to do that will, and ever be willing to sacrifice ourselves to the good of others. May we know that thus we shall best promote thy glory, and our own happiness, as well as the best and everlasting good of others.

Give us grace to live more according to our knowledge and avowed principles, as the disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. We know these things, but alas we come far short of them; may we take up our cross, and deny ourselves and follow our Lord, till we rise to the happiness which our Saviour has set before us, when he said, If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Bless us as a family; may we live in increasing love to each other. Let not one be undecided or unconverted. Give us a far higher union than flesh and blood and mutual temporal advantages can bestow. Give us to be one in Christ; not only for time but for eternity, and all to be partakers of his saving benefits. Bless each of our respective families, grant

them all that is needful and good for their bodies and souls, and guard them from all dangers. Bless our rulers, our church and country. Bless all the nations of the earth. Send thy Spirit upon them, and turn them, O turn them from idolatry, Mahommedanism, Popery, infidelity, lawlessness, mere nominal Christianity, and every evil way, to love, serve, and obey thee. Gather thine elect speedily from all lands, bring back quickly thy people Israel to their own inheritance, and fulfil all thy promises, in the coming and glorious kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. To whom with thee, O Father, and thee, O Holy Ghost, be honour and glory, now and for ever.

WEDNESDAY MORNING.

THAT WE MAY PARTAKE OF THE RICHES OF
CHRIST.

O Lord our God, to thee belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against thee; grant that we may more and more taste that the Lord is gracious, and that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. May our whole life be a constant coming to Jesus as unto the living stone. O may we carry on a blessed and ever-enriching traffic and commerce in the inexhaustible riches of
