Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praifed in the City of our God, in the Mountain of his Holinefs.

We have thought of thy loving Kindness, O God, in the midft of thy Temple.

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our Guide even unto Death.

My Heart P is fixed, O God, my Heart is fixed; I will fing, and give Praise.

Awake up my Glory, awake Pfaltery and Harp; I my felf will awake early.

I will praife thee, O Lord, among the People: I will fing unto thee among the Nations.

For thy Mercy is great unto the Heavens, and thy Truth unto the Clouds.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the Heavens: Let thy Glory be above all the Earth.

But I will fing of thy Power; yea, I will fing aloud of thy Mercy in the Morning: For thou hast been my Defence and Refuge in the Day of my Trouble.

Unto thee, O my Strength, will I fing: For God is my Defence, and the God of my Mercy.

[blocks in formation]

God, thou art my God, early will I feek thee: My Soul thirfteth for thee, my Flefh longeth for thee, in a dry and thirsty Land, where no Water is:

To fee thy Power and thy Glory, fo as I have feen thee in the Sanctuary.

Because thy loving Kindness is better than Life; my Lips fhall praife thee.

Thus will I blefs thee, while I live: I will lift up my Hands in thy Name.

My Soul fhall be fatisfied, as with Marrow and Fatnefs; and my Mouth fhall praife thee with joyful Lips:

When I remember thee upon my Bed, and meditate on thee in the Night-Watches.

Bleffed be God, which hath not turned away my Prayer, nor his Mercy from me.

HYMN VI.

LET God arife, let his Enemies be scattered; let

them alfo that hate him, flee before him :

As Smoke is driven away, fo drive them away; as Wax melteth before the Fire, fo let the Wicked perifh at the Prefence of God.

But let the Righteous be glad ; let them rejoice before God, yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Sing unto God, fing Praifes to his Name: Extol him that rideth upon the Heavens, by his Name JAH, and rejoice before him.

A Father of the Fatherlefs, and a Judge of the Widows, is God in his holy Habitation.

O God, when thou wenteft forth before thy People; when thou didst march through the Wildernèfs. Selah.

The Earth fhook, the Heavens alfo dropped at the Prefence of God; even Sinai itfelf was moved at the Prefence of God, the God of Ifrael.

The Chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thoufands of Angels: The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the holy Place.

Thou haft afcended on high, thou haft led Captivity captive: Thou haft received Gifts for Men, yea, for the Rebellious alfo, that the Lord God might dwell among them.

Bleffed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with Benefits, even the God of our Salvation. Selah.

He that is our God, is the God of Salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the Iffues from Death.

They have feen thy Goings, O God, even the Goings of my God, my King in the Sanctuary.

The Singers went before, the Players on Inftruments followed after; amongst them were the Damfels playing with Timbrels.

Blefs ye God in the Congregations, even the Lord, from the Fountain of Ifrael.

Sing unto God, ye Kingdoms of the Earth: O fing Praifes unto the Lord. Selah.

Afcribe ye Strength unto God: His Excellency is over Ifrael, and his Strength is in the Clouds.

O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy Places; the God of Ifrael is he that giveth Strength and Power unto his People: Bleffed be God.

The Humble fhall fee this, and be glad: And your Heart fhall live that feek God.

For the Lord heareth the Poor, and defpifeth not his Prifoners.

Let the Heaven and Earth praife him, the Seas, and every thing that moveth therein."

I will alfo praife thee with the Pfaltery, even thy Truth, O my God: Unto thee will I fing with the Harp, O thou holy One of Ifrael.

My Lips fhall greatly rejoice when I fing unto thee; and my Soul, which thou haft redeemed.

My Tongue alfo fhall talk of thy Righteoufnefs all the Day long: For they are confounded, for they are brought unto Shame that feek my Hurt.

HYMN VII.

ING aloud unto God our Strength: Make a joyful
Noife unto the God of Jacob.

Take a Pfalm, and bring hither the Timbrel, the pleafant Harp with the Pfaltery.

Among the Gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord, neither are there any Works like unto thy Works.

All Nations whom thou haft made fhall come and worfhip before thee, O Lord; and fhall glorify thy Name. For thou art great, and docit wondrous things; thou art God alone.

I will praife thee, O Lord my God, with all my Heart; and I will glorify thy Name for evermore:

Thy Seed will I eftablifh for ever, and build up thy Throne to all Generations. Selah.

And the Heavens fhall praise thy Wonders, O Lord; thy Faithfulness alfo in the Congregation of the Saints.

For who in the Heaven can be compared unto the Lord? Who among the Sons of the Mighty can be likened unto the Lord?

God is greatly to be feared in the Affembly of the Saints, and to be had in Reverence of all them that are about him. O Lord God of Hofts, who is a ftrong Lord like unto thee? or to thy Faithfulness round about thee?

Thou ruleft the raging of the Sea; when the Waves thereof arife, thou ftilleft them.

The Heavens are thine, the Earth alfo is thine: As for the World and the Fulnefs thereof, thou haft founded them. Thou haft a mighty Arm; strong is thy Hand, and high is thy right Hand.
