FOREWORD As part of this committee's continuing legislative oversight responsibility, the Departmental Operations Subcommittee has been conducting a continuing review of the administration and operation of the food stamp program. That program has grown significantly in recent years and is still expanding. In order to maintain congressional and public confidence in its operation, this committee intends to continue its review and study of both the integrity and the effectiveness of this program.
